The Fairmont Monte Carlo has many things that one will want to experience when in Monaco. The excellent service that comes with the Fairmont brand name and can be found in Fairmont hotels throughout the world, rooms with beautiful decor, fresh seafood and produce cooked by experts and served in picturesque surroundings and a number of other amenities. However, the Fairmont Monte Carlo’s best asset of all may simply be its location. It offers immediate access to the three things Monaco is known for – glamourous casinos, the Mediterranean Sea and the Monaco Grand Prix.
Next to Monte Carlo Casino
The hotel is located right by the famous Monte Carlo Casino, which is noted for its 19th Century architecture and beautiful surroundings. Even those not interested in throwing the dice will be interested in visiting simply to see its beauty. The Monte Carlo Casino can be reached in just a couple of minutes on foot.
Guests looking for gaming don’t even have to go that far, as the modern Monte-Carlo Sun Casino can be accessed simply by walking through a door on the first floor of the hotel.
Watching the Monaco Grand Prix
Monaco is known world-wide, in part, for the Monaco Grand Prix, which runs through the streets of the small nation every May. Perhaps the most famous part of the course is a hairpin turn, which requires drivers to make a 180 degree reversal of direction in a small space. It’s the part of the course where the driver must use the utmost precession and skill and is noted by many as the best place to watch the race.
The Fairmont looks directly down upon the turn, and is therefore a prime destination during racing. On other days, it’s also a fun place to look down on and watch all of the Ferraris and Aston Martins that can be found in Monaco driving through the turn. One excellent viewing location is the outdoor pool located on the top floor of the hotel. The pool also has a bar and lounge area that turns into a fun night club with a great view after dark.
Views of the Mediterranean Sea
The Fairmont Monte Carlo is a great place to view the Mediterranean Sea from different vantage points. One view comes from the patio outside each room, which sits directly above the water. The electronic awnings provided for each patio make it a fun place to order room service and enjoy a sunrise by the sea breakfast.
Another way to enjoy the view while dining is to go up to the top floor of the hotel to the Horizon Deck, Restaurant and Champagne Bar. There are 360 degree views that allow visitors to look out onto the sea, or inland at Monaco’s landmarks while enjoying a number of different dining options. While the seafood is fresh because of the location, so is the produce that surrounds it, since the Fairmont has its own farm where it grows the food located not far away. The cooking is fresh as well. While browsing the buffet, guests can put in an order at the “Live Cooking Station” for meat or seafood and have it brought to their table in minutes.
Other dining options on the property include L’Argentin Monte Carlo, which has an elegant dining room that is open for dinner, and Saphir 24, Lounge & Bar, so named because it is open 24 hours per day – or as the “five stages” of the day – coffee, lunch, tea, the Lounge and the Night.
