The entry is a soaring, sunlit 15-story atrium, highlighted by a dramatic blue and purple  painting (Loopy Doopy by Sol LeWitt) rising 13 floors above the registration desk, with two grand staircase at the East and West entries.  The hotel is a dramatic home for contemporary art, with 2,000 selections throughout, creating an inviting atmosphere for hotel guest and local residents alike.

Restaurants on property include the signature Atrio, serving contemporary Mediterranean cuisine prepared in an open kitchen with a wood-stone oven and the hotel’s rooftop bar, Loopy Doopy.  The bar will be open seasonally from spring to autumn, offering small plates, sophisticated cocktails and 180-degree views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, New York Harbor and the Hudson River. Directly above the bar will be a green roof including a garden with fresh herbs and vegetables for the culinary teams at Atrio and Danny Meyer’s North End Grill, located next door to the hotel.

The neighborhood surrounding Conrad New York is also the scene of remarkable dining:  Shake Shack (modern take on a roadside burger stand), Blue Smoke (authentic pit barbecue), North End Grill (modern American bar and grill), Harry’s Italian (award-winning Italian specialties), and more.  If you want to pick up something quick, try Francois Payard Bakery, Battery Place Market, or Vintry Wines.

The Conrad New York is committed to green practices and is pursuing LEED Gold certification for New Construction. Noteworthy environmentally-friendly practices include the green roof and chef’s roof garden, bike racks for public use, low flow plumbing fixtures for water conservation and more.
